5 Ways to Incorporate Wallpaper into Any Space

Don’t call it a comeback, it’s been here for years. Yes, we’re talking about the return of wallpaper, friends!
While the trends may have changed, wallpaper still remains a unique tool for designers to transform a project with a few simple steps. Don’t let the ghosts of décor's past (90s we’re looking at you) keep you from discovering the beauty of DIYing your way to wallpaper heaven, or hiring a professional to do it for you. With endless possibilities at your fingertips you can create anything from faux brick to shiplap to a forest of friendly foxes or a funky geometric look. We promise that these insider ideas will make you fall in love with wallpaper all over again (or maybe for the first time).

1. Add an Accent Wall

Don’t want to overwhelm a room with a four-walled pattern? Go for a simple accent wall to bring a dramatic or even soft effect to an area. Accent walls can create that pop you need without giving you a headache and can also trick the eye in regards to how much space (or little) you have to work with.

2. Make a Statement with Shelving

Another easy way to add personality to just a specific area is with wallpapered shelves. Add color and dimension that will draw attention to the surrounding accent décor and create a unique statement for any room. This is also a perfect way to help electronics, such as TVs and stereos, blend seamlessly into your design.

3. Transform Tabletops

Bring your dining room to life with a funky tabletop design! This is perfect for those who just want a little splash of character to bring their room together. Choose a pattern that suits your style and cover any table (or even chairs) to freshen up your previous look at little cost!

4. Call Attention to Ceilings

A great option for those who want little distraction in their décor. Instead of walls or furniture, cover your ceiling (which rarely gets any love) with a fun design that will surely open up the room and draw the eye upwards. Add a chandelier or light fixture to create even more contrast!

5. Create Your Own Artwork

Still not ready to take the plunge? Choose a wallpaper you love and frame it! This is a great way to add texture and dimension to an area without the commitment that comes with papering an entire wall. It’s easy to interchange as you revise your personal style and it’s a fun DIY project that is totally customizable to you!
